Chartered Jet Safety Standards
When you schedule a business flight on a commercial airline, you pretty much take safely for granted. It is common knowledge that air travel has far fewer accidents per passenger mile compared to any other form of transportation anywhere. Land-based vehicles can suffer from minor malfunctions, like a flat tire, and not cause much ore than inconvenience, but airplanes can’t tolerate even simple malfunctions. Many minor problems can become life threatening. Because of this, the aviation industry has to comply with many different standards of safety including the excellence of maintenance done to the aircraft and issues related the qualifications and capability of all personnel involved
Jet Charter companies maintain fleets of executive jets and provide an alternative to the reliance on commercial airlines. Passengers who fly on charter jets are typically top-level management personnel from Fortune 500 companies. This alternative is an ideal way to travel for on-the-go executives who find themselves chasing connections to comply with demanding schedules. Technically speaking, charter airlines require FAA certification for safety, but many of them have elected to comply with the stricter Jet Charter Safety standards, which go beyond the FAA Part 135 regulations. There is an outside agency, Wyvern and Aviation Research Group, which reviews and analyzes safety and sets much more stringent safety standards than the FAA, including the SIR (Safety Intelligence Report) and the PASS (Pilot and Aircraft Safety Survey) validation programs. The total hours that pilots fly for pilots certainly verify their experience, and similarly the total hours flying each specific type of jet is also measured and used as criteria for assignment on flights. Obviously, a pilot who has never flown a certain aircraft, even though he has many thousands of hours logged on other aircraft, is not yet approved to pilot a flight with passengers until training and qualification have been finalized. Jet Charter Safety places these types of standards first and foremost to provide the best service with total safety.
